Kitty Cash: The Series

Kitty Cash is a game series (Parts i and ii) I coded using Javascript P5.js in Open Processing from 2020 to 2021.
Storyline: You're playing as a cat burglar...who is actually a kitty cat, he's masked up, quick on his furry feet, and incredibly attracted to shiny objects and of course...cash. This game follows the ensuing action as the kitty burglar is on the escape from the law, and maybe just grabbing a couple extra bucks along the way.

The Series features two different games, both of which features the kitty burglar in some real sticky situations.

Step 1: Conceptualize

My process started off by writing out some possible overall game story lines, player movements, & sketching what the game/characters could potentially look like. My initial began as a game that featured a chicken named Chickadee. Before I decided to pivot in the direction of creating a cute...but menacing character.

Step 2: Gathering Assets

The kitty burglar character, and police cars was completely coded using a mixture of shapes using Javascript P5.js. Other assets such as the backgrounds, coins, and clouds were created using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

Step 3: Putting It All Together

Using Javascript p5.js I coded the mechanics of the games. Incorporating elements & visuals for both aesthetics and functionality.

Kitty Cash (Part 1)

Instructions

Objective

1. Press the play button to start the game.
2. You control the character by using the arrow keys (up, down, left, right).
3. The screen warps from right to left.
4. the police car is constantly moving, and loads at a random position each time.
5. When you lose all your lives, press the play button on the
game over screen to restart.
6. If game is in progress and you wish to return to the home screen, press key 'q'

To get as many money bags as you can without losing all your lives (you start with three lives, and lose one each time the police car catches you!)

Kitty Cash Flite (Part 2)

Instructions

Objective

1. Press the play button to start the game.
2. Use the left and right arrow keys to control kitty burglar
3. Avoid the birds and police cars! (Birds kill you instantly, but police cars -1 life)
4. Use Slider on the bottom of the screen to change the colour of the sky
5. Press key 'q' to return to home screen
6. Press key 's' to view police scanner
